If you are looking for support to advance the clean energy transition on your island, please don’t hesitate to contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org. We will make sure to put you in touch with the right person to help you directly.
The EU Islands Secretariat provides...
...support on the co-development of island-wide Clean Energy Transition Agendas
This means the Secretariat can write the transition agenda together with the local community. The community should take the lead on this, and the agenda should be written in local language.
The Secretariat launched a call for expression of interest from island communities on 5 November 2018. The call will be open until 15 January 2019. You can find more information on the offer here...
...guidance on the development of Clean Energy Transition Agendas
This means the Secretariat mainly acts as support desk for reviews and for re-directing stakeholders to relevant local networks (as opposed to co-authoring the agenda).
...pre-feasibility studies for individual clean energy projects
Example: For a PV or wind energy project, the Secretariat can check the site and estimated energy yield.
...assistance for the preparation of individual clean energy projects
The focus here is on the technical and financial aspects of a project. For instance, the Secretariat can help you with reviewing your tender documents, selecting offers from contractors, or help you with building a financial model for investment.
You can contact us with any questions you may have regarding the clean energy transition on your island, and one of the experts in the Secretariat will answer your question. Or, if there’s a better person to help you, we’ll make sure to put you in touch with them.
The Secretariat does not currently provide direct financial support to EU islands. It can however support island communities to prepare the financial concepts for their projects and plans.
