Kos

The island of Kos belongs to the Dodecanese Prefecture, which, along with the Cyclades Prefecture, forms the Region of Southern Aegean. The Municipality of Kos covers the entire island of Kos and belongs to the Regional Unit of Dodecanese, where the headquarters of the Regional Unit of Kos is located, which administratively includes the island of Kos and Nisyros.

Prangli

Prangli is the northernmost island of Estonia with a permanent population. It situates in the gulf of Finland in the Baltic Sea. The island's year-round population is about 75 inhabitants and about 200-250 people are living here during the summer season.

Andros

Andros is the northernmost island of the Greek Cyclades Archipelago. Andros municipality in cooperation with Network of Sustainable Greek Islands (DAFNI) applied to the Clean energy for EU islands technical assistance in March 2022, with the goal to develop a Clean Energy Transition Agenda (CETA). This CETA is a strategic roadmap for the clean energy transition, in which the local community must be involved.

Linosa

Linosa is a small Italian island of volcanic origin in the Sicily Channel between Tunisia, Sicily and Malta. It is part of the Pelagie Islands (Lampedusa, Linosa, Lampione) and administratively belongs to the Municipality of Lampedusa and Linosa, in the Province of Agrigento (Sicily). Linosa has an area of 5.4 km2, about a quarter of the size of Lampedusa, but has just 430 inhabitants, which is only 7% of the population of the overall municipality.

Thira

The Greek Island Thira, also known as Santorini is located in the southern Aegean Sea in about 200 km distance from the mainland. 

Thira has participated in the 2022 Call for Technical Assistance and has received technical assistance by the Clean energy for EU islands secretariat. 

Venø

Venø is a Danish island  and the only island in the municipality of Struer (Central Denmark Region). Distance to the mainland is 256 m. The island is served by municipality owned ferry-service with 44 daily departures. Venø has 80 resident houses and 60 holiday cottages. The main economic activities are a boarding school, farming, seafood production facility, few active craftsmen and tourism.In mid-2022, the local citizen association began an energy transition project sponsored by the NESOI, Struer Municipality and the energy supplier.
